Of our books, which are actually worth reading?
I remember reading sometime ago that only Tundra 1, L'anomie and Hypersphere were actually worth reading and not just a very long shitpost.

Technically they all suck but there are little funny parts that stand out

None of them because collaborative writing is lame.

I think we only have those three
Though i guarantee you that Hypersphere is shit; it has my stuff in it

There are two sequels to Tundra and Pictures of DFW, but they are not on the level of the /lit/ meme trilogy

author here. it starts with a recognizable narrative and then descends into pants on head.

>> No.11807867

>>11807843
at what stage does it descend to pants on head? like 90% of the way through? 50%?

>> No.11807886

>>11807867
page 102. so about 1/3 of the way through is where the descent begins.

I'm the guy who posted the second image (not the author) and I'd say it's mostly a coherent narrative in journal entry form for roughly half to 75% of the book then there are several nonlinear fake-out endings for the last fourth or so.

Yes.

That edition of Third Rail is actually the first proof. The text on the cover is positioned differently in the final version.

Impatience and a general distaste for editing.

I realized it looked crappy after the fact but figured I'd keep it that way because the sloppiness of the work is a key element due to it being my first attempt at a novel and how manic the two month process of writing it was. There's even a twist at the end in there as a joke about how amateurish it must look.

from 1st draft to final?

>> No.11808849

>>11808825
There was only one real draft which I only proofread for unintended errors (I'm sure I still somehow missed some) and slightly touched up. I'd only consider a second draft to be something which involves major revisions.

Also, just to set the record straight regarding postmodern memes as mentioned in that one post above, it's not random at all. The core concept was that it was to be a book about death. The would-be protagonist dies in the prologue and the rest of the characters, most with one chapter apiece named after them in a manner resembling headstones, are influenced by that death in one way or another. There was a lot more thought put into it than the format may suggest.

Nice. The rating is surprisingly high for a normie site but I guess these kinds of "artifacts" have pop culture appeal if only due to being taboo.
