This is really fucking with me. Most of the books I read have chapters with page counts in the teens or twenties at least.

Nah, different authors different styles. Some very good authors have very short chapters. Keep up the writing . Just the fact that you're putting in actual work puts you above 99% of this board. I'm sure some of your chapters will be longer than others, and a lot of the work is going to come in during editing. You'll change things, make some chapters longer, cut out content from others etc.

chapter length only matters when you're not properly structuring the chapters. if you're not doing this, then you can possibly have a one page chapter

You can always combine similar chapters while editing. If you're writing a hueg novel then short chapters might be nice, anyway.
