There are certain aspects of this book I enjoyed. Pessoa makes some good statements, focusing on the meaningless and absurdity of life... but goddamn is he fucking whiny. The whole "oh, woe is me" doesn't work well when coming to term with an absurdist worldview. Really the only main criticism of the book I have. Overall, I found the experience a positive one, if a little repetitive and emo-inclined.

I know that feel because I happen to be in Lisbon right now. Came here a week ago, I'll be going back home on sunday. It's been nice, I bought a couple of books too.

His poetry is indeed a lot more rewarding. I guess this board only reads prose though (muh translations am I right ?)...
