Any one care to give me a quick rundown of this whole Chapo Trap House phenomenon? Is this the new political handbook for 18-23 year old media/cultural studies leftists with a Messiah complex? I know the insult won't do me any favours as far as genuine responses go, but really looking for genuine answers. I've seen this podcast increase in popularity in the last half year and die-hard fans seem to be organising false-flagging and brigading operations on various centre-left and centre-right platforms quite effectively as well.

Started out good as an offshoot of weird twitter, became shitty shortly after trump was elected, but I listened to a couple of episodes lately and there were quite a few funny bits so I might start listening again.

Like all leftist shit, they were ruined by their fan base. While they started out as harder edged and willing to make actual jokes, it soon became vogue amongst leftists to like them and the absolute mediocrity of the mind and spirit of the average leftist dragged them down into basically being the daily show but slightly more current.

Still I'd rather that the primary voice of the left in America be socialist rather than liberal, even if American leftism will always be tainted with the same psychotic Protestant hysteria and witch hunting as everything else in that country
