A veteran of WWI returns home to find his teenage love unhappily married. The soldier's lover studied and became a high profile lawyer. He married a high society woman for appearances and to help his career. Now that his boyhood lover has returned, he realizes how miserable he truly is. Unfortunately, their love would ruin both their careers. Battling shell shock, the soldier hatches a plan to rescue his lover from his high class life and relocate to a ranch away from the busy city like they always talked about. Ultimately, the plan fails and the lovers turn to suicide to escape the society's prejudice and unwillingness to accept their love.
