The original French indo-european population are the original French people. And we do not know how much of a percentage of French people are left in France because the French government (unlike the USA and the UK) keeps those numbers to themselves. They do not allow the French people to know how fastly they are dying out.

My own view of "original French", "original Brits" etc is that whichever ethnic group founded the nation should be considered its primary heirs. Second, these groups themselves were off-shoots of other groups who, despite not founding the nation themselves, tend to be white and therefore its "spiritual" heirs. So in the USA for example, White Europeans are the true natives as they are the ones who founded the nation, but Europeans back in Europe are its spiritual heirs, not the various tribes of red indians who, despite helping occasionally and taking sides, really did nothing for the founding of the nation, and are themselves descended from roaming bands of Russo-Asian tribes. A mix of Celts and Romans with some Germanic/Norse admixture. As far as the percentage goes, it's hard to estimate. There was significant immigration from Spain, Italy, Portugal and Poland in the 19th and 20th century. They blended quite well.
