any good philosophy books that explore First Principles as a concept? I don't have in mind people like Descartes who start with first principles, rather, a study of the philosophy behind First Principles themselves

To truly understand The First Principles, one should not try some empty metaphysical contemplation: instead: look for the last material elements.

Begin by knowing the periodic table by heart. Study the mineral deposits of various mountain terrains: buy gold. You may learn something

This is a really stupid post

Groundless Grounds by Braver maybe, Pippin's Moderinsm as a Philosophical Problem, Rockmore (ed.) Antifoundationalism

Look for critiques of Platonism and "Cartesianism" and you'll eventually see a genealogy of modern antifoundationalist thought (Nietzsche, Heidegger, Wittgenstein) that will itself contain genealogies of foundationalism (e.g. back to Plato)

It's trendy these days to claim that by not trying to "ground" thought, you are in fact liberating it, and that true wisdom is abandoning first principles, abandoning extra-human divine reason, etc. Especially trendy among degenerates to be honest
