Yes

Think about the messages your trying to get across to your readers. Do these themes support this message, such that they feel as though they served a purpose in your novel, rather than merely existing for shallow world-building?

If you answered yes to that question, than yes, I'd probably read your book because that sounds awesome. If no, than I'd probably find your book not fleshed out, pointless, or "cool" but not really substantial.

I'm not a writer, I'm not even a good reader, so my opinion matters little. But there it was nonetheless.

You’re on a /lit/ board, so we discuss anything that has to do with literature.

I just want to write a book about future feudalism with slavs. Maybe I don't want a message.
>>11415090
I have yet to find any form of media that deals with what I want to write. I don't mean future feudalism, as in, planetary vassals obeying to a galactic war. I mean actual feudalism, society regressing to feudalism, medieval society with lasers.

On a side note completely unrelated, I watched one review of EYE Divine Cybermancy and I suddenly see it fucking everywhere. The review was made like a year ago and as soon as I watch it I see references and people talking about it left and right. Same thing happened with Planescape Torment and Heroes of Might and Magic. Is there a name for this phenomenon or is the simulation I am living in failing?

I really can't get into grimderp but I like cyberpunk and slavic would be interesting but only if you know what you're talking about. Are you slavic or is everything you know from movies and games?

I did a good amount of research on both Orthodox Christianity and Slavic paganism. The book takes place in the far future and I am trying to make it its own distinct culture, so a more accurated description is "slavic influences".

Take the Cyberpunk buzzword out and I'd love it.

Look into Svyatoslav of Kiev. He tried to standardize Slavic Paganism and his mother was St. Olga of Kiev.

>Futuristic idealist society.
>Disaster. God killed himself
>Society resets back to zero.
>They still have their bright, flashy lasers and nifty robots, but life fucking sucks and usually only the nobles, their vassals, and other such people get the high tech stuff.

No. I care about story and characters. The setting is just that, the setting. An interesting setting can certainly add to my enjoyment of a work, but if the setting is your main point of appeal then I'm not interested.
