Thanks for the recommendation. F. How are the English translations of his works? Assuming at least a few of his works have been translated.

This book made me want to read Baudrillard. Is he worth reading? (I was given the impression by a friend that he 'critiques liberalism' in a certain sense)

Yes I'd definitely suggest giving Baudrillard a read.

So, Lasch is an historian, and that quote, taken out of context here, is not really about 'women' as such, but about the broad psychological conundrum actual women faced in the middle years of the 20th century, as the consequences of the social and sexual 'revolutions' unfolded, and their attendant 'ideologies' came into conflict with other predominant modes of thinking and conceiving the sex roles.
Which is to say: this is not the 'epic BTFO' against the ladies that refuse to touch your jim-jam bits you seem to take it as, given label you've tacked to it.

it talks about many of the fundamentals of liberalism like legal equality and private property

>> No.11414432

Are you talking about proper liberalism or about what muttamericans call liberalism?

>> No.11414435

>>11414432
Proper liberalism. Not the muttamerican usage of the term.
