I shooped that about two months ago and posted it on here. I am willing to admit that it was not a very creative idea and you could of also thought of it.

Once again Tybrax fails to get a literary joke. But I forgive her.

I just finished that like an hour ago

It was very good (in a for-this-year kind of sense, maybe even for-this-decade), very White People so if you aren't a fan of the problems of people who haven't fled at least two different third world dictators you probably won't like it. Franzen takes (at least as much as it is possible) a back seat in this one, much more than he did in The Corrections, the style is much less writerly. The challenges aren't in the literal reading of the text (although now that I think about it, it's still pretty fragmented), and the payoff is more emotional than intellectual--the various politics/belief systems/what have you are all intimately parts of the characters, rather than the characters being stand-ins for whatever they believe in. I read it in big chunks, about 100 pages at a time. It's also a much sadder (and, overall, better) book than The Corrections.

Though it is a bit concerning just how much pop culture Franzen managed to pack into this, from Twitter and "the facebook" (lol) to Bono and Bright Eyes.

Stephen King wrote a whole novel dedicated to the Amazon Kindle (Amazon paid him for that)

ILOLUISMP I do not watch Oprah and am therefore unaware that this was a actuality. Franzen sold out quicker then the Hannah Montana panties at wal-mart.
