How to deepen spoken vocabulary?

Reading is one thing, my reading comprehension is solid, but I can't seem to integrate higher levels of speech in day to day interactions. I am concerned I am a brainlet.

you're going to sound dumb if you force unwieldy synonyms into your speech. using big vocab comes naturally when the most apt word to use just happens to be a rare one

This.

You'll sound like one of those dumb people who learns a few big words.

>tfw don't use any advanced vocabulary because I'm afraid of sounding like this

Read more. Look up the definition of words that you don’t understand. Your vocabulary develops over time, stop trying to be a pseud.

You already sound like a brainlet. You sound like a fucking STEMlord who took one English class and thought he knew all that he needed to know.

Read. Read a lot. Use a two-dollar word when it's the right word to use. Believe me, intelligent people know what it looks like when it's just a pseud like you tryharding your way through a conversation, and they'll judge you for it.

Read more and have more conversations with smart people about interesting topics. You'll have to challenge yourself with what you read and think about. The real question is why do you feel the need to use complicated words in the first place? If it's to help you express your ideas more effectively then sure but if it's simply to make you feel intellectually superior then don't you'll only look like a fool.

A deeper spoken vocabulary than your peers is off putting. What I have found is people warm to you and will believe you to be a more genuine person the more blatantly you swear around them.

Bad writers—especially scientific, political, and sociological writers—are nearly always haunted by the notion that Latin or Greek words are grander than Saxon ones.

-George Orwell

It matter not what you say, but how you say it. There no need to use "fancy" SAT words.

I find if you use a bigger than average vocabulary but also swear a lot it counteracts the perceived pretentiousness

My spoken language is better than most but its not elite tier. How do I speak like a great orator? Any books on this?

You don't even have to, but eventually, read them. I read a few pages from Victor Hugo's speeches when he was into politics and I learned a bit from it, mostly what is said into this thread: that no one needs an uselessly deep vocabulary. What one can work on is the rythm and composition of sentences, how words and phrases come together one after the other. Also if helps if you learn to use certain figures of speech.

You do not fucking need a high spoken vocabulary. It has been proven that people who use too many words often have muddled and unclear thoughts.

Myself, I used exactly 100 words in my spoken life. No more, no less. In writing I am far more ferniflouous, but spoken? Pic related are the only 100 words I have used in the last 2 years. I get by fine

Are you by any means one of those niggers who constantly talk about their nigerian culture and how much better sony is than nintendo?
