Anyone struggle to read a book when the writing is so sublime or meaningful it almost overwhelms?

that makes me crush it in 48 hours and then feel sad and empty.

yes, a few pages of Dante fill me with immense satisfaction, while it takes dozens of pages of my fantasy pulp to satisfy me

If I read a particularly good bit of prose I take some time to enjoy it before I start reading again

Sometimes if i read a passage that is very interesting / compelling, i'll get up and walk around for a few minutes

Yes and i either
a) burn through it as fast as i can then stare at a wall feeling empty and depressed, as if some metaphysical mosquito just sucked out the will to live out of my soul
b)read and re-read it as slowly as possible, dwelling on certain fragments or pages for hours or days on end until my TO-READ pile starts upsetting me more than it usually does

There's also a C, when it's a dead author that i love so much i want to keep having the feeling of that first read, so i postpone or spread it out as much as possible.
