I tell you now OP an opinion that shall be endlessly criticized here, that 4chan is an absolute cesspool of impressionable breitbart /pol/acks that can't normally function in society, yelling about how women are evil and nazis didn't do nuffin. Ask them about esoteric topics like anime titties or Magic the Gathering, but don't rely on them for anything regarding society or real life, for they have no worthwhile experience to speak of other than their fevered imagination and persecution complexes.

It's really not, it's idle amusement mostly. There's no point to reading politics if you aren't political, and most people aren't going to want to take politics beyond their friends and family. I do enjoy the idle amusement though, Trump is the greatest show in town.
