What is a literary hack?

What are the red flags that one can use to identify a literary hack?

Is it alright to enjoy the works of a hack?

Makes sense.

I kind of think it's important to know how to identify hacks so that one can prevent themselves from becoming a hack in their writing.

Read the western canon and you won't have to worry about hacks. Ignore every modern writer past the 50's

Last bump before bed. I hope that I wake up tomorrow to a decent discussion, if not RIP my thread.
