As an electrical engineering major myself, I find it absolutely laughable that anyone would even think of majoring in anything that is not related STEM. You can easily learn the contents of the other majors by yourself without wasting your money, while learning something that is useful and practical.

Art as a job is basically dead. So quit dreaming on that one. The only way you can get any money is by being some Hollywood shill willing to shoot his artistic vision in th foot or by getting UBER lucky and being just normie tier enough that teenage girls read you.
That’s not to say don’t work on your art. Far from it. Work are your art in your free time (there would be more of it if you stop using the computer so much). It’s just you will still have to work a job. Write or paint or compose or whatever when you get home. If you love doing it, you can get through the urge to just relax instead. Also training yourself to do it everyday helps.

i am an eurofag studying english+french (language and literature). i realized (a bit late) that i'm never gonna make it out of my shitty country which pays graduates 500€ with an humanities degree so i'm trying to get into another university, i thought about doing CS because it's one of the few degrees other than econ/finance/management that would allow me to leave and make some money abroad, but i don't wanna be a miserable code monkey and i'm not delusional enough to think that i'm gonna get a master's and work in AI when there are Silicon Valley autists who have been doing this shit for years. so i'll just try and go for the econ and management.

Pretty rare to find intellectual friends that read literature and have something insightful to say, it is why I come here to talk about lit. Still that is nothing compared to a classroom setting with a professor who REALLY knows the texts.
