I bought Augustus and also Peregrine after seeing /lit/ go on about how NYRB is the best publisher.

I really enjoyed them both.

Please recommend more nice New York Review of Books books.

can't you just read the descritptions of some nyrb books and decide for yourself?

nobody here even reads much literature.

can you even tie your own shoelaces?

They have a lot of Zweig which is great. Beware of Pity in particular is an exceptional novel and everyone should read it.

Other ny recs:
Dead Souls
Butcher’s Crossing
Jacob Von Gunten

For non fic they have a great book on Dante and also Anatomy of Meloncholy.

Zweig is at best middle-brow. The fact that he is far more popular abroad in translation than in the Germanosphere should tell you a lot.

This. It's always amusing to see amerimutts swoon over some euro author, who is known as second rate in the patrician circles, but since it's a translated work published by NYRB or Pushkin Press, boom! Daft amerimutt feels like he's in the know now. And Zweig is only the top of it. He's presented as this obscure uma delicia for literary connoisseurs when he was translated into twenty languages. Imagine how absurd it would be if Reclam tried to shill a german translation of Gone with the Wind in a similar manner.

This image resolution indicates it was taken directly from the NYRB website just like >>11259386 was, which if you search "NYRB" on gis and set the exact resolution to 650x1040 you can confirm, but in the case of Morel it is NOT one of the image sizes that appear on a google image search, which indicates that you are pulling these directly from their website, which is a very un-hip and shill-like thing to do. Please stop putting your trash on /lit/ and go advertise on Facebook. This community is run by volunteers for free as well as a Japanese businessman who you can buy ads from if you care to support the site while garnering readers. You fuckin fixed-gear hipsters are shitting on our project of fifteen years, and I want this turd of a thread and your annoying 650x1040 ass out of here pronto!
