Was Connor MacNeasa Rí of Ulaidh a good man /lit/? From everything we are told of him we know that he was extremely wise and would have been the greatest kings if not for the harlot Deirdre forcing his greatest warriors to flee the land. Which causes his his one horrible act to happen. Breaking his promise to Fergus MacRoich and killing the beloved sons of Uisneach, splitting the men of Ulaidh which of course weakens it for the invasion by the Connaughtmen. Even when he got the woman he was lusting over he sold her to a foreign king causing her suicide. General Irish mythology thread I guess.
Also the Táin is a fantastic story. I heavily recommend it.

I don't think it's much of a story but it surely is a cool thing to read

Ah sorry that's what I meant. Just the idea of one man defending his land against a whole army is just exciting to read.

I still need this book identified. Can anyone lend a hand? The only information I have is the cover and the genre (fantasy).

Somebody answered it. It was "Un cuento oscuro", by Naomi Novik
