I can't understand the Divine Comedy at all. Often times it's hard enough to even make sense what the heck is going on, is it even worth reading in the English translation or should I learn Italian?

Considering how heavily he was influenced by the political situation in Italy at the time, I think it would probably come from some country in the Middle East, honestly. Would probably lean a lot more on Islam or Hinduism than Christianity, so it would never gain traction here in the States.
