Nah. I still buy good books. But if the publisher couldn't be assed to put some effort into a cover that matches the quality of the book then I refuse to give them money, or the previous owner money if it's a used book.

Same reason I haven't had a girlfriend in years. If you can't be assed to present yourself to me in a proper manner then you're not worth my valuable time. Put some effort into it or I will judge you by your "cover" and refuse to consider you my property.

With most books it's a sound strategy, because covers nowaday are like the wrappers on most consumer goods. They advertise to the audience most likely to buy the book.

This doesn't apply to leather bound books. These shouldn't be judged based on the cover.
