This is going to sound pretty dumb and pretentious, but, whatever. I like bones, skulls in particular, because they're like... iconography. A deer skull isn't an individual deer, anymore, it's a representation of all deer. It's a reduction to its base essence. I was always kind of enchanted by that, I guess, and I think it also comes from this obsession I had as a kid for permanence, which probably comes from my crippling separation anxiety. But, I mean, I don't know.
