I am astonished at how many of you misread Gravity's Rainbow; how many merely disregard the stark truth, and cast it aside as Zaniness.
I mean, yes, well done and such... your commitment to a work no one is really sure how was written anymore (rumors abound, clandestine meetings, Thoth's doing, Sirius Business, cutting deals), and I'm sure your mother was really tickled to a rash-shade, going home and reading all about what strange words and worlds you shove into your eyes, surely now, yes, viewing you as a bonafide literati member—best be sure to expect a fatter check, Mister New Manager.
But good golly gosh, you cannot expect a book like this to not include little tidbits of Facts some might consider Fun... for all the scenes of pernicious suits meandering in halls strewn with debris, the War's constant reminder, and outside scents of petrol mingled with flesh, the sinew melting away to show red-stained skulls, under the insolent Sun whose heat seeds Virgin Lands, which is now under barrage daily, by shells and absorbed horror, scarred to the burnt clay... had to have fun in there somewhere, ya feel?
Remember Jack Parsons' chant to Pan, a Thelemite's wish for the Rocket to unfurl into the soft regions of upper space, to penetrate deep below again in grace, whispers of air to realign, and strike.
Vril and their call; their beautiful vehicles, their Aryan nymphs.
I mean to say, really, is that you're not opening your heart, anon, to all the calibrations beyond the mundane... which really means

You've become a horrid wretch in your years,
Throwing empty opinions and daft jeers.
Confiding fears only to walls,
Sticking to the periphery of halls,
Daddy said ya ain't got no balls!
Virgin walk, pretentious talk,
Hey Kid, ah-listen, there's gonna be a decline in your stock!

Incels inundate no ocean shores,
on beaches with babes, none will consort;
Only jizzum-stained rags in lurid yellow
and leftover pizza for you, odd fellow.
And chastising the charts for not being high-brow (Holy Cow!)
La-la-la-lamenting about something new (Somehow?!)
Everyone's tired of your shit!
If I called you a pseud, would ye throw a fit?

>implying Pynch would use "strewn with debris"
Or maybe Tom is doing a triple false flag to pull the wool over our eyes? Or the carpet from under our feet?

Tom, what's your take on Children of Men as book, film, and general term?

People on this board always talk about how Tommy posts here, but how can we be sure? The anonymity of this site is an invitation for anyone to try an impersonation. I mean do you guys think it far fetched that the type of people who browse his board have anything better to do? It's just a little too ambiguous. For fucks sake he doesn't even show people what he looks like; can you see how that one detail allows for so much reliance on faith in these cases?
>>11100713
I want to believe. Tommy you know you stole my concept of deconstructing cause and effect? I thought I was so brilliant for coming up with it; a complete reduction of our most fundamental operations. But then I start reading GR, and lo and behold some old guy did it before me like 40 years ago? Sounds like an misuse of linear time to me. Expect to hear from my lawyer.
