I got published writing shitty ya fiction about teenage girls baking and have made enough money to not need to work for quite a few years. I like money but I hate myself for it, currently working on a "serious" book but honestly I think I'm just going to find a cushy job and work that for the next 40 years of my life.

There's not much to be envious of. I spent 7 months on a manuscript about a county-wide food fair because an editor suggested that I write a book for teenagers and young adults after rejecting my manuscript.
I've spent a good 3 and a half years of my life writing shit and I feel drained of all creativity because of it. I wish I could say that I regret "selling out" but I'm much too comfortable for that.
