11091327 No.11091327 [Reply] [Original]

Just bought this to put on my working desk to help me get inspired.

What do you guys think?

It's clearly a file you found online. Make the filename 'IMG 36' or something next time (or don't shitpost -- your choice).

OP here. It’s obviously not my home: why I would have so many fucking bicicles hanging on the wall?

I just ordered the bust because I liked the meditative look and the ample forehead of this Shakespeare. One can really see the genius on those small, marmot like eyes and well trimmed mustache.

Oh, but I will.

Just looking at the picture of my future statue already boosted my creativity and inspired me to compose the first scene of my new tragedy. Imagine what I will be capable of doying when I will be actually able to rub Shakespeare’s mighty forehead for that divine spark of inspiration. It will be a thousand times more effective than a cup of strong black coffee.

Great times are coming.

>> No.11093652

I think I will order a version of this bust. Shakespeare doesn’t look threatening on this version like in the others (where he is not only a genius, but also a bearded male model, with strong jawline and cheekbones).

I need to get inspired, not intimidated.

>> No.11093800

The problem with this statue is that sooner or later you are going to get drunk, seize a permanent marker and write something on that smooth, white, inviting dome of his.

Do it, OP.

Do it now.

P.S. For years I asked my relatives to buy me a large bust of Beethoven for Christmas/b-day and they thought I was joking.
Every time these came round (I was supposedly hard to buy gifts for because I didn't like normal things) we would repeat the following conversation:

>Family member: what do you want
>Me: A bust of Beethoven
>F.M.: Haha, you don't mean that, what do you really want
Me: A Bust of Beethoven. A big one.

Eventually one of them did get me one but only a really small one. That was worse than nothing because spurning it would have been cruel and it also blocked me ever getting a bigger one :(

I still don't have a big bust of Beethoven :(

Speaking of Shakespeare: I'm planning on reading the Complete Works of William Shakespeare, as almost all English literature includes narratives based off of or referencing his work.
How should I work around reading his poetic but cryptic English (which I know is why he is so great), is it my job to figure out what he means or should I consult something else?

His language while flowery is pretty simple. It was meant to be understood by and entertain uneducated peasants. There are a lot of double entendres like “speak of country manners” though.

This is not a bust this is actually an image of a bust and it's actually not an image but an illusion of an image made up by pixels and we are not seeing this same illusion because we are looking at different screens and we are actually not perceiving the screen itself we are perceiving what our eyes tell our brain and we are actually not just experiencing this because this experience is put in relation to a nearly endless amount of other information so much that our original experience is hard to find.
