I don't think I understand Pride and Prejudice. What's the appeal? Is it supposed to be a satire of posh people and their awkward courtships/snobbery? Why do people think Mr. Darcy is such a great character, when he barely talks?

it was written by an incel aristocratic whore you massive faggot, reading books by women, especially incel aristocrats, is like reading books by nigs, its only an exercise in social signaling or self indulgence and there is nothing to gain from it ever

Yeah it's satire. Darcy is beloved mostly because he's the quintessential dark brooding figure who can be changed through love, and women literally cannot get enough of that

It's funny, great prose, well drawn characters, satisfying plot. Very insightful about human motivations. On it's own terms it's basically flawless.
Also from time to time she drops in a bomb like
>Will you tell me how long you have loved him?
>`It has been coming on so gradually, that I hardly know when it began. But I believe I must date it from my first seeing his beautiful grounds at Pemberley.
/lit/ has a blindspot for Austen because 90% of this board have no experience either with women or relationships, so a book intelligently dissecting both goes over their heads

It's not as well plotted and it's not as funny. Bronte doesn't have any of Austen's social satire. Wuthering Heights is romanticism and Austen is proto-realist so take you pick
