Is The Encyclopedia of Fantasy by Clue & Grant worth picking up if you're a fantasy fan?

Same thing goes for The Encyclopedia of Science Fiction.

Oh, Fake Stagolee, you never get old.

sage because I'd feel selfish bumping my thread for this post.

I have the Encyclopedia of SF. It's occasionally useful for a browse, but to be honest, Wikipedia does me just as well. The one thing I can't easily get off the net is Clute's indices of fiction on a particular topic.

Wikipedia and TVTropes do it for me, but I've never read these myself.

I guess I won't get them and instead spend my money on actual science fiction and fantasy.

Thanks!

I love both of these, but they are a bit old (SFE is fom 1993 and FE from 1997, I think.) So you mght not think them worth buying new, but they're two books I use all the time.
