You see the difference is from other subjects like Philosophy and English is that there is immanent value in understanding a philosopher or writer even if you regard as entirely correct. In History however there is an implied "truth" involved but its a fragile truth, you can very much have your entire "expertise" superseded just because no one finds your line of investigation convincing.
