Anyone read this?

Should I bother?

Just watch the three movies they are really good and spend your reading time on something more substantial. I recommend the Hagakure here is a pdf.

I read it and enjoyed it. Movies are good too like anon says but I'd read the book desu, it has some nice things.
Also read Outlaws of the Marsh/The Water Margin if you want some real old stuff in similar vein.

There's some teachings in it similar to the Go Rin No Sho (which was written by Musashi after all), it's definitely more than just a cool guy doing sword fights but there's also a lot of just that.

I've read the first "book" (out of like 8?) in it so far, but I haven't gotten back to it for some reason.
I enjoyed it though, pretty easy to read which is a nice change of pace after reading Blood Meridian. This reads like Dr Seuss compared to that. Also funny to have clear-cut characters (at least so far). It reminds me of stories from when I was a kid, like the shrewd, evil lady is always over the top evil.
