I would like to learn more about antinatalism, partly because I am an asshole and I want to further alienate myself from friends and family, and partly because I don't want another kid and my wife does.

Any recommended readings? General overview of ethics of having kids?

also you aren't going to convince your family, your wife, or anyone else about not having kids based on an ethical standpoint. youll just come off as an edgy autist. you havent even convinced yourself if you need to read on the topic to justify your prefernce. do reading for your own private enrichment but i hope you dont believe youre going to use it to somehow deflect the pressure from your family to have kids. finally a split on the issue of having children sounds pretty terminal as far as marriage goes. good luck with your eventual divorce.

There's a reason why people like you feel unfulfilled 9/10 later in life. You probably don't realise the blessing your kid is because you're not old enough, but once you understand it, it will be too late to have another.

Why is this always taken to extremes?
People always say either you should always have children or you should never have children.
Why can't it just be that while having children has some cons they have plenty of pros (as it is a biologically natural urge) and it is bad or difficult to have children later on in life so you should think very carefully before deciding not to have a child.
