Any good books about horrible people that deal with humiliation and indignation? Maybe something along the lines of The Diary of a Superfluous Man. (I've read the other Russian Superfluous man books and all of Dostoevsky).

I wish I could answer, books exploring the breakdowns of evil individuals like Envy I guess must be in short supply.

Though I haven't read them, I can confidently point you to Christopher Marlowe, a radical, heterodox thinker who wrote about the ambitions of characters like himself and their impending, fully-fleshed out dooms.

envy's meltdown was the most tragic fucking thing I'd ever seen. It was so well done. Watching him turn from this huge asshole to this pitiable, pathetic thing was amazing.

God, FMA:B is SO FUCKING GOOD.
