Goering admirer here. You're right, for the wrong reasons. A lot of the failure of the Nazi military campaign can be accounted for Hitler's ideal of health.
Goering was an addict, but he was a competent military planner who saw how the war would turn, at which point Hitler and Goebbels decided he was too high to be making decisions, and sent him to sober up. That decision alone probably cost them not the war but the whole country.
However, the vegetarian ideal that Hitler had did nothing for soldier's morale either: things which Allied soldiers took for granted as creature comforts above those at home which made getting shot in the morning seem worthwhile, like cigarettes, alcohol, chocolate, were denied to soldiers on the Axis side under German orders to keep the men healthy until someone shot them. Not providing cigarettes, despite its cost to the army coffers in acquiring them and health costs, probably lost Germany the war because of the constant demoralization the troops experienced because they were being controlled by a vegan with no military tactical sense.

This bullshit is exactly why Goering went home to his woodland lodge to paint his toenails and play with his trains and teenage boys in togas while high as kite the last few weeks before his capture. Because that's what a Nazi with military sense would do at that point. What did Hitler do? He married Eva Braun and passed out plant based cyanide. Hardly anyone's idea of a good weekend.
