Bonus: you remember it when you wake up?

When I was a kid I sometimes had dreams of finding amazing books in abandoned or mostly-abandoned, beautiful, enormous libraries or bookstores... sometimes I would read small snippets of these books and it seemed as if they contained marvelous secrets about the nature of existence. But I often woke up right when I was about to leave with the volumes. And I don't think I ever remembered any of the books' contents on waking up. Perhaps my mind never actually created any contents, only the sensation of reading something amazing? I don't know. I think Lovecraft, judging by some of his work, may have had similar dreams.

Last night I dreamt that I wrote something Hemingway-esque, but superior to Hemingway in its ability to convey much with little, its realism and neutral but generous treatment of characters, and so on. But I could remember nothing on waking.

Got into writing, super into it, started dreaming the book I was writing. Most of the idea's I get though are right before bed or when I wake up. Sometimes you can only really pull one or two points out.

Happens often. In the dream I'm aware that whatever I write is brilliant. Occasionally I'll recall enough of the dream to scrawl a few words down in my journal. It's always really fucking stupid. "You sir, are the one with the fat farting ass." stuff of that caliber.

I woke from a dream a few nights ago by being votekicked out of it for writing a really unfunny joke in chat. I can't even remember the joke...

A few years back, I actually had a dream where I was reading the most amazing greentext story on 4chan. I don't think I ever knew all the details, but the basic premise was that an anon wrote about his grandma taking him skiing and someone taking photos of him with the same dumb smile on his face at the end of each run. I woke up laughing my ass off and it was incredible.

A few weeks ago I started reading American Psycho and when I got into a chapter in the middle of the book I got the feeling like I had already read it. Like a dejavu but super intense. I even predicted Bateman saying “fucking iranian”. I swear I had read it but I cant remember when. Maybe I read it sleepwalking?

Once I had a dream that I was working as an assistant to some big wig movie producers who were arguing over what movie to make next and I had the best fucking idea: a buddy adventure movie about a wild west cowboy and a disgraced japanese samurai. It would have been AMAZING.

That actually sounds like it would be a cool movie if executed well.
