As a whole, I'd agree. But Britlit has stars that outclass individual Americans.

For instance, while I love me some Mark Twain, the fact is Swift was a far better satirist than Twain. However, ever since the 1800's American lit has been consistently better than Britlit.

But the problem is, Brits have such powerful trumps in the pre-American lit period. Shakespeare, Swift, Milton, Chaucer, etc.

So while I agree with your sentiment, you need more nuance to be less of a troll bro.
