I can help. You're going to need at least two thesauri

First, take note of everything in the room.

EVERYTHING.

Leave not to the imagination or interpretation of the reader, at least nothing physical.Don't describe, explain. There are no "china sets, the color of sunshine", there are only "yellowed plates sets".

Also, learn to write from the half empty school of thought.

Now, after you've literally explained to the reader with cold efficiency, describe what the characters are doing.

Change setting, and repeat.

One Day In the Life of Ivan Denisovich is almost 200 pages of almost nothing fucking happening as a guy walks around a prison.
