In the first story are you writing about the constant dumbing down of the self/society?

That we keep trying to be briefer, "catchier", more meaningful with less. Resulting in saying nothing?

Just submitted a short story (for the first time) to a scifi magazine hours before the window closed at 23:59 Dec 31.

Last-minute editing it with input from all my friends at the new years party turned out to be a lot of fun, actually. One guy actually gave me better advice than my writing group ever did.
