You fantasize with the delusion of you being a literary individual. You like the idea of you being (or being viewed as) someone who reads more than actually reading.

You're just wasting your own time ultimately. Find something you enjoy and do that.

In other words get off my board reeeeeeeeeeee

This, but I would also say not to throw in the towel so quickly. Like most people you've had the joy of reading sapped out of you by public schools and teachers who assigned some feminist LGBT writer that you forced to drudge through. You also have a smart phone, possibly play video games and use the internet frequently, including multiple social media platforms. Which means you don't have much concentration or focus. You need to rebuild it. So start by reading for 20 minutes a day. No breaks. Do so for a week, and add 10 minutes, and then do that for a week, and then get to an hour.

By building up your concentration and not letting your mind wonder mindlessly you might find that you can actually begin to absorb and focus on what you are reading. Otherwise the other guy might be right and you are not interested in reading.

How does one go about finding their hobby? Can there be one for whom nothing is so captivating as to become a hobby?

Always search for new experiences and step outside your comfort zone. If you live a monotonous life with little new experience, how can you expect to find a passion?

How can you find that which you cannot conceptualize? For a man who has never known passion, how can he be sure that whatever he expiriences really is the thing, and not just a more superficial joy?

We die without being able to conceptualize death. When you find a passion you know, it's that simple. Word games are just word games.

after quitting drugs i took up a hobby of making wooden furniture without powertools. it was only there to distract me and tire me out and in the end i had something i could use. now i genuinely enjoy it and find it very calming.

point is, i knew i needed something so i just chose randomly. now its a habit im happy to have.

not everything has to be captivating, nor fulfilling on a deeper level for you to do it.

if you got no passion for anything, do things as a test against yourself. see how far you can push yourself, because what else are you to do?
