I haven't read it, nor have I heard much about it. I do see people reading it on the train pretty often and it's displayed prominently in the bookstore, so I figure it must be pretty mainstream. Therefore, /lit/ probably hates it.

I'll admit that besides skimming a few pages of the book I've only seen the movie, but if the movie was true to the plot and character development (which I've been lead to believe it is), then it's absolute shit.

I think that the only reason these books have gotten the attention that they have is because they were all published posthumously and that fact alone has given them some strange notoriety.
