Well, I mean, I can't speak for other people, but finding out that I was asexual was really liberating. It's probably different for everybody, but I spent a long time hemming and hawwing over what I was. Finding the definition one random day, and then having it all click, it was amazing. I don't get offended because it's not something for other people, you know? It's being able to define yourself, for yourself, and realizing it's a real thing and not just you being weird.

But I can understand not caring about defining yourself down to the smallest increment.
For me, asexuality is enough, so I don't spend much time on my gender, for example. It wasn't a big issue when I was a kid, so I don't really care about it.

It's just nice to know sometime.
