yea Beauty is a Wound is usually what most people mention as his best work but I wanted to start with something shorter and less serious. The first thing I read by him was actually Man Tiger which is one the most "this book is made for analyzing in highschool literature class" books I've ever read. but I finished it, and I don't really finish any books I don't like. Benefits of pirating most of my books.
Also Beauty is a Wound is a really serious work about a topic I'm just never really in the mood for reading seriously on (family). Vengeance Is Mine on the other hand is not really serious at all, its a fun romp.

Contemporary Indonesian literature set in Jakarta. Wild and crazy book but written wonderfully. I don't really like common "World Literature" but this is just a fun story.
