Thoughts on this? I personally cannot read without having a bit of background noise, and when I write I blast the music loud, but that's not important right now.
For people who need a little quiet and non-distracting music on while they read: what do you normally leave on? Calm ambient, Gamelan, baroque music, Erik Satie, etc. all welcome, as long as it's useful for background noise. The more lethargic and quieter the better.
Pic unrelated, Beethoven's music isn't good for background noise (it's too complex and great to ignore).

How do I convince my gf to appreciate the classics more? I need a framework and good arguments. And I don't mean limited to literature, as her tastes in movies and especially music are awful.
