i'd reccomend you go to the sf/f general, you'd like it there, probably. I haven't read them but I've heard they're quite bloated and I've no interest in reading them.

So I've been thinking. Its actually rather impressive how well George R.R. Martin alludes to actual nations in the nations in A Song of Ice and Fire. What do you all think some of the more complicated of the nations are based off of. I'll start off with the easy ones so nobody needs to say them. Southern Westeros=england Northern Westeros is Scotland and Dorne is spain. For a difficult one I think Bravos is loosely based off of cicily with all of it's canals. Even if the cultures dont exactly match.
Help me out lit. What do you think the rest of the world is in reference to?
