It's the convenience of deciding you wish you had brought something else, and there it is. It's also as small and thin as the lightest paperback. Honestly, it sounds like you have a book fetish than a love of reading, because I'm 100% certain that if you have a lot of books there are some gems on your shelf that in this instant you don't remember exist.

A third of my collection is in storage because my collection just got out of hand. There are books that I decide to re-read but would have to go dig through my crates to find. Now I can pick up a tablet or phone (because your Kindle/reader isn't the sole device you can use, remember) and read anything in my collection on a whim.

I'm even considering clearing my bookshelf and just putting an old Kindle on the middle shelf as a joke.
