ITT: Share your literary feels.

I had one today -- how writers today are a continuation of an ancient line of scribes, from Vyasa to Enheduanna to Chaucer to you and me. And here we are, browsing 4chan and not writing/reading.

I'd like to read Dante's fanfic so I can understand the influence and references made to it. Thing is, there's a fuckton of translations, and I'm not sure which one to read. I'm not an expert on theology, poetry, nor 14th century Italian pop culture, so I should probably get an annotated edition. And ideally, I want a translation that isn't so literal that I forget it's a poem, but not so flowery with its prose that my small brain can't understand it. Any recommendations bros?
