Mark Twains short stories are good on audio book
Its like listening to your granddad telling you stories "bout when he was a youngster"

That's a nice book you've got there, Hawthorne. It'd be a shame if someone were to... review it.

Why is he so perfect?

>"There are some things that can beat smartness and foresight? Awkwardness and stupidity can. The best swordsman in the world doesn't need to fear the second best swordsman in the world; no, the person for him to be afraid of is some ignorant antagonist who has never had a sword in his hand before; he doesn't do the thing he ought to do, and so the expert isn't prepared for him; he does the thing he ought not to do; and often it catches the expert out and ends him on the spot."

What was this guy's problem? He always talked about how "stupid" people just aren't as smart as him, and bemoaned the fact that a stupid person can easily win an argument with a smart person on charisma alone (which I have a hunch Twain was lacking in).

He's like the 19th century equivalent of an internet troll. He wrote these extremely articulate and verbose arguments from the comfort of his desk, but quickly mutated into a stuttering moron outside the security of his leftist hugbox.

Did you know that, contrary to popular belief, Mark Twain is in fact a terrible writer, and would be a footnote in the canon of lukewarm American pulp "literature" if it weren't for his leftist political leanings?

Is it just me or are most "classic" authors talentless hacks who are only noteworthy for their political views?
