There's this one sci-fi movie that has a plot related to this. Its not a generation ship, but all people on it are supposed to be criogenically frozen until they reach their destination, but one of the pods malfunction and a guy gets let out early, with over 100 years left on the journey and no way to freeze himself up again. To cope with his lonelyness he ends up looking into the lives of other passengers, until he finds this one girl he's so infatuated with he decides to unfreeze her too.
It would have been a great premise for a terror movie/story, but fucking Hollywood decided to make it into a romance.
Pic related is the movie. I really hope someday someone actually does something interesting with the idea since it's really fucking cool. In the meantime, I'll share it to make more people mad with me.
