Any other contemporary books that discuss Christ being the final truth that can set the damaged modern man free?

>"Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am meek and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For My yoke is easy and My burden is light.”
- Matthew 11:28-30

I haven’t read Girard’s critique, but I intend to now that you have brought it to my attention, so I appreciate you bringing it to my attention. I think Christianity is key to Nietzsche’s insanity. I think pic related basically sums up the case with Nietzsche. He was full of ressentiment towards Wagner, and it seems like Nietzsche desperately didn’t want Christianity to be true, but still had some sense of discernment of how catastrophic the so-called ‘Death of God’ would be—of course unlike atheists think, this section of The Gay Science is presented essentially as a horrible thing that people have not yet truly grasped. Christ lived rent-free in Nietzsche’s head until the very end, when he began to literally sign letters as ‘the Crucified’ or ‘the Christ’. It’s pretty tragic.

Nietzsche to F. Overbeck, June 23, 1881:
> “As far as Christianity is concerned, I hope you will believe this much: in my heart I’ve never held it in contempt and, ever since childhood, have often struggled with myself on behalf of its ideals”

From Will to Power §1038:
> (...) As for myself, in whom the religious, that is to say god-forming, instinct occasionally becomes active at impossible times--how differently, how variously the divine has revealed itself to me each time! (...)

Nietzsche to Cosima Wagner, January 3, 1889:
> . . . this time I shall come as victorious Dionysus, who will make this world a holiday...Not that I have much time... [...] I have been hanged on the cross, too...
Nietzsche’s to Jean Bourdeau in January 1889:
>“I am the Christ, Christ in person, Christ crucified.”

Yeah, your position is based of the presumption that there is no sovereign God in control of history. Your paradigm doesn’t allow it, therefore it’s not ‘muh common sense’ (which is governed by your presuppositions). Some prophecies, of course, like Daniel 9.24-27, are impossible to ignore, and it’s always funny to see you fags squirm over them

You can learn right here and now which claims are true. There is no corruption of the Old Testament. There is no corruption of the New Testament. The sheer amount of extant manuscripts and fragments proves this. This said, the prophecies of the OT are intact. The prophecy of Daniel 9.24-27 which predicts the time of the coming of Christ and his dead remains intact. The evidence for the Trinity in the OT remains intact. Muslims cannot cope with this, and it comes down to a hardness of heart on their part. The Qur’an, meanwhile, is full of errors. They even have pagan kings as their prophets and confuse Miriam and Mariam, and have to cope by claiming that Mary was a Levite when one of the most basic facts of Jesus is that he was descended from David in the tribe of Judah. Islam is a mess. I pray that you will see this.

So let’s assume first that the scholarly date for Daniel is correct, and that it was written in the 2nd century B.C. This would mean that coincidentally the author somehow predicted exactly events that would happen in two centuries max, or either way more than a century after the events of his writing the prophecy, and he would somehow also know the exact dates of rulers such as Artaxerxes I that are known by modern-day secular historians. This is astronomically implausible. It gets even more implausible when we considered what actually happened, i.e. that Daniel wrote the Book of Daniel in the 6th century B.C. and predicted the time of the coming of Christ with laser precision. People can’t even predict the weather tomorrow outside today, let alone climate trends over a decade or so, and you think some guy can randomly pinpoint exact dates for the coming and death of Christ and that the Temple will be destroyed by foreigners and that sacrifices would stop? Be honest to yourself, anon, it’s impossible without God.

This is more cope. The prophecy gives us an exact time for these things, and specifies what will happen. It’s undeniable that these happened in history, and therefore we see that Daniel, centuries beforehand, somehow knew that all of this would come to past. It’s clearly not a coincidence, the odds would be astronomically unlikely.

>your version of Dionysus
Kek it’s the syncretism schizo again, I already refuted you previously, and again you are ignoring the time-frame aspect of the prophecy in order to deny its evident conclusions in confirming Christianity

Christianity is the Truth. It can be hard to accept, but it is really the only option left after looking at the evidence and doing deep soul-searching. I used to hate Jesus Christ and endlessly seethe against Christians and blaspheme God, but eventually I had no choice but to accept that Christianity was the Truth

I’m only seeing cope here. It’s as conclusive a proof as any. And the Jews in the Talmud just conveniently not having their sins forgiven since 30 A.D. is just a coincidence, I’m sure.

Aerial toll-houses are completely Patristic from what I have read and seen in the Desert Fathers, and St. Athanasius’ biography of St. Anthony, where he sees something remarkably similar. There are numerous other cases that people typically point to as well regarding the toll-house teaching.

Regarding Fr. Seraphim Rose in particular, I pray that he shall get glorification into sainthood in good time. He was instrumental in me coming to Orthodoxy, and his works on nihilism, evolution and similar topics are great and pertinent reads.

He is intervening right now with people telling you the truth. It is part of His providence. You are the one who is fighting it by not converting to Christianity and giving your life to Christ.

>kalpa
Literal fairy tales invented by Satan to lead you away from awaiting the Messiah. It is similar to evolutionism in its attempt to make the world seem self-operating without divine providence, existing for trillions of years without a need or telos.
Also, there were people in pagan nations, before Israel even existed, who knew about Christ and were waiting for Him and were worshippers of the One God, see Job and Melchizedek for example. This is obvious because the knowledge was given to all nations, some just forgot it almost completely with their plunge into idolatry and worshipping creation.
>a bit of reflection
You mean prideful reliance on debunked "scientific" criticism?
>Salvation is always there.
Yes, it is in Christ and He is always ready to accept you. No other way is possible because of what salvation is by nature, it is becoming what Christ is by His grace. Christ taught it to us Himself and we just follow Him without inventing our own notions in cooperation with demons and being confused crypto-protestant men larping as hindus. You are just following the spirit of the age with whatever new "spiritual discovery" you make, perpetually seeking and never uncovering truth because it is always changing to you.

>the word of a random carpenter
The rest of your post is worthless because it is based entirely on this blasphemy, that Jesus Christ was not who He said He was. It's a tired notion someone who has seen even a glimpse of the light can only pity you for believing, truly. I pray for your conversion.

Mainly demons, and also people losing the ability to believe in God, thus thinking that other people have lost it too. They find it impossible that other people would actually think Orthodox Christianity is true because they instinctively despise it and fear it.
