okay /lit/ , Mishima or Murakami , and give your reasons why

I cannot recommend enough the beautifully succinct and precise "Mishima: A Vision of the Void" by Yourcenar.

I got my claws on it a couple of days ago and I've enjoyed it thoroughly. If you like Mishima's work, this is a must read.

Fuck it, I will start a new short story where Mishima convinces the soldiers to revolt and affirm the divinity of the emperor, instead of what happened in reality.

What kind of warrior and leader do you think Mishima would have been in such a situation? Politically, I have no doubts, but I am interested in knowing your ideas about the little details: How would he fight? How would he lead? I kind of picture him way too strict about sustaining traditional approaches to warfare and leadership, undermining his chances of success against a more westernized, pragmatic forces. However, I also see him as inspiring in the eyes of the revolting soldiers, motivating them to risk their lives beyond what a paid soldier would.

What are your thoughts? Put those writing neurons to bubble!
