Exactly. Civil war in the U.S. is probable, but the planet suddenly turning into Mars is far from likely. Assuming worst comes to worst in the U.S., there's still the rest of the planet to inhabit, with everyone else who lives in those places. When Rome fell, other powerful countries weren't exactly crying about it. I, for one, am happy western civilization is going to collapse. We're likely to see proper art, literature, and music again.
