me i read 49 pages yesterday and 12 today but im not gonna stop till i read 50

>new Spanish bookstore opens up in high price business neighborhood
>happy as fuck because they have hard to fins shit
>whenever I'm in there it's always empty except for maybe one random costumer
>browsing books when suddenly some 30yo milf walks in recording on the store for instagram story or some such other social media brain drain
>we meet in counter as I'm paying for my books
>almost unbelievably we have one author in common
>we start talking about soccer and sports for some reason
>she gets real close as she talks and smiles
>she obs wants it but Im too inept at closing the deal
>say I'll be late for work and leave sweating profusely


another time, same store:

>walk in and say hi to clerk
>mind my own business, brose books
>everything going well, empty as usual
>pick up a poetry book at random and a translation of some romanian novel
>start small talk with clerk
>old dude, probably owner
>desk is a mess and full of books, orders, papers, bills etc
>comment that he looks busy and business looks good
>Actually we've had to cut personnel to a minimum, not doing so good
>we'll see after summer ends to see the assess the situation

Dont do small talk if you're socially incompetent like me, it leads to disastrous interactions.
