I read because I like when my brain goes bzzzz and I feel I learned something. That's why I can't into fantasy. Tried Neuromancer earlier this year and it felt like a waste of time. Brothers Karamazov, on the other hand, made me think about Christianity in a different way. I guess the concepts in Neuromancer are too stablish in society to have an impact, but my point stands.
Philosophical novels > Fantasy

Is there a better feeling than when you get into the zone? It just flows, as if you are living the story. Hours pass and in the end you are exhausted, panting, proud of yourself. Those are rare for me - and mostly the only things I believe to be well-written. How do I get into that state every time?

Quite terribly, there is indication that my health is beginning to fail me quite quickly. I have never been so depressed in my life. I have realized at last what my family truly regards me as. Terrible feeling, that. I think I'll die some spiteful, proud creature, unless my survival is ordained by God.

What are some works of literature that concern a perceived deterioration in cognitive ability/judgment during periods of illness/nervous excitement? I can no longer bear this tortuous metacognitive cycle without some sort of outlet to relate to.

I listen to them while playing the Binding of Isaac. Any other game recommendation?

How many words do you write per day? I just want not to worry so much all the time I'm not writing, as if I'm throwing my life away not focusing enough. It's like that guy who starts going to the gym and wants to lift for three hours straight.

I don't even remember the ending of Brothers Karamazov. If the book had finished right before the trial, when we get to correlate everything, it would be the best ending in all of literature. No, but we have to endure 100 more pages of a boring trial. The idiot's ending is better.
