So I just found out that Freud didn't discover "passive aggression."

It was actually discovered in the most mundane fashion:

A bunch of doctors in the British army noticed that soldiers would use underhanded tactics to undermine their officers and this is where the term gained currency.

This really surprised me because I always thought "passive aggression" was like, THE Freudian term.

Can someone recommend a nice book for those like me who want to enter the world of psychology but are pretty much lost?

I honestly fucking love this guy's literature. He's second only to Nietzsche in my eyes... His writing style is phenomenal and most of his ideas are bang-on.

And besides, most people who THINK they disagree with Freud only disagree superficially... Many of them use Freudian ideas in their day to day lives all the time. I literally hear people say "anal" or "people marry their mothers/fathers" almost every day,
